Mobile Spinach Eats Up $1 Million

San Mateo, CA-based Mobile Spinach, which makes mobile software that helps consumers get discounts at local businesses, said today that it has raised $1 million in new venture funding in a round led by Blumberg Capital. Quest Ventures and Launch Capital also contributed. Mobile Spinach users can buy offers at a discount then use Mobile Spinach “Bucks” carried on their smartphones to redeem the purchases at restaurants, clothing stores, salons, and other businesses in more than 600 U.S. cities. CEO Antonio Vitti said in a statement that the funding will help the startup recruit more merchants into its program.
