Buys Radian6

Radian6, the social media monitoring company based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, will become part of San Francisco-based (NYSE: CRM) in a deal worth roughly $326 million in cash and stock, announced today. Radian6’s technology helps companies see how they’re being described on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other channels, and lets them assess the results of social media marketing campaigns. said that the Radian6 acquisition will “create the bridge” between online communities and its own private social network for enterprises, called Chatter. “Chatter feeds will no longer just contain the activity happening within the walls of a company, but will be filled with real time insights from fans on Facebook pages, followers on Twitter, comments on blog posts and more,” the company said in a statement.
