In-App Billing Coming to Android

For some time, users of Apple’s iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices have had the ability to make purchases from within mobile apps (allowing them to buy individual issues of a digital magazine, for instance). Google announced on its Android Developers Blog yesterday that this same capability will soon be available for apps sold through the Android Market, the Android operating system’s equivalent of Apple’s iTunes App Store. Developers can test in-app purchases this week and the service will be fully launched next week, according to Eric Chu of the Android Developer Ecosystem.
