$25M for GetJar for Android Push

San Mateo, CA-based GetJar, whose open mobile application store includes 75,000 apps for Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, iPhone and Symbian phones, said today that it has closed a $25 million Series C funding round. Tiger Global Management led the round, which was joined by previous investor Accel Partners. The startup says it plans to use much of the new money to “aggressively expand its offering to Android publishers in order to secure its position as the premier ‘open’ Android Market alternative.”
