IntegenX Adds $16M, Buys GenVault

Pleasanton, CA-based IntegenX, formerly known as Microchip Biotechnologies, has acquired Carlsbad, CA-based GenVault and raised $15.6 million in new capital in a round led by existing investor Domain Associates, according to a report today in Dow Jones VentureWire. IntegenX makes automated sample preparation systems for genetics laboratories, and GenVault produces bio-sample storage systems that do not depend on refrigeration. GenVault head raised $46 million in venture funding from Cross Creek Capital, Domain Associates, Greenspring Associates, and QuestMark Partners, according to VentureWire, and IntegenX has now raised $38.2 million in total from Domain Associates, In-Q-Tel, Rona Syndicates, Samsung Ventures America, and Western Technology Investment.
