Appcelerator Collects $1.3M

Lost in the news today about an Appcelerator-sponsored study of business mobile application development trends was a regulatory filing indicating that the Mountain View, CA-based company has raised $1.3 million in new equity-based financing, in a round that could total as much as $3 million. Previous Appcelerator investors, who most recently contributed $9 million in an October 2010 Series B round, include Storm Ventures, Sierra Ventures, and strategic investor eBay. The company makes software engineering tools designed to speed development of applications intended for mobile, desktop, and Web platforms.
