Overland Buys MaxiScale

San Diego data storage and management provider Overland Storage (NASDAQ: OVRL) said today it has acquired MaxiScale, a Sunnyvale, CA-based provider of data management and data protection technologies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. MaxiScale’s technology, which is being integrated into Overland’s file storage portfolio, provides infinitely scaling storage capabilities that promise to reduce capital and operational costs while improving performance. MaxiScale, founded in 2007, raised $25 million in venture capital financing from New Enterprise Associates, El Dorado Ventures, and Silicon Valley Bank.
