On-Ramp Wireless Raises $4.5M

San Diego’s On-Ramp Wireless, which launched its low-cost, long-range wireless networking technology last September, has raised $4.5 million out of a planned $18 million round of equity and debt, according to a recent regulatory filing. On-Ramp CEO Joaquin Silva did not respond right away to an e-mail seeking more information about the company’s fund-raising. On-Ramp, founded in 2008, says its wireless networking technology can cover hundreds of square miles at a very low cost.
