Sony Selling 3D TVs

Sony Electronics, whose North American headquarters is in San Diego, says it is now taking orders for 3D televisions that the company previewed for reporters at the beginning of the year. Sony, which is following the debut of 3D TVs from Samsung and Panasonic, has placed its bet on technology that requires active shutter 3D glasses. The company includes glasses, which otherwise cost $150 apiece, in customer orders. In addition to offering Sony 3D Bravia TVs and 3D home theater systems, Sony is offering 3D stereoscopic gaming for its PlayStation 3.
