Roger Ehrenberg to “Unpack” the Founder-Investor Bond at NY Venture Challenge
Want a chance to watch Roger Ehrenberg, managing partner of IA Ventures, pick the brains of Spark Capital’s Bijan Sabet and Tumblr founder David Karp? Join Xconomy this Thursday, April 25, at our “New York’s Venture Challenge” event where Ehrenberg will lead a discussion about what it takes to create the right dynamic to nurture startups while keeping backers engaged. Ehrenberg expects, in particular, to examine the elements that contribute to a fulfilling relationship between a founder and his or her lead investor. He also hopes to hear what investors do to remain involved without meddling too much with the strategies of startups.
Sabet is definitely more than a behind-the-desk investor. He plans to run in next year’s Boston Marathon along with others from the investor community in a show of solidarity with the community and victims of last week’s tragic bombing.
Ehrenberg, Karp, and Sabet will speak on Thursday along with other leading entrepreneurs and venture capitalists from the city. The founder-investor discussion, just one part of this half-day forum, will also include Habib Kairouz of Rho Ventures, Warby Parker co-founder Neil Blumenthal, Joel Cutler of General Catalyst Partners, and Ben Wolin, founder of Everyday Health.
“New York’s Venture Challenge” will be held from 9:30 am to noon on April 25 at the AppNexus headquarters at 28 West 23rd Street. Other speakers booked for the event include Brian Cohen, chairman of New York Angels, and Nate Westheimer, executive director of New York Tech Meetup.
It is not too late to grab a ticket but Thursday will be here before you know it.
