Kaminario Collects $15M for Storage Grid

Newton, MA-based Kaminario, a data storage startup, said today it has closed a $15 million Series C round from new investor Globespan Capital Partners and previous investors Sequoia Capital and Pitango Venture Capital. Kaminario started in 2008 and is led by co-founder and CEO Dani Golan. The company has raised a total of $34 million. It uses off-the-shelf blade servers and solid-state drive technology to create what it calls a “distributed storage grid appliance” for businesses. Kaminario says its customers include financial services firms, Web media companies, telecommunications companies, and government agencies.
