Living Proof Shines With $16M

Cambridge, MA-based Living Proof, a maker of beauty products developed using advances in material science, announced it has snapped up $16 million in a Series B funding round, to put toward product distribution and new R&D efforts. The money comes from Piper Jaffray Merchant Banking and Polaris Venture Partners, which founded Living Proof with MIT inventor and biomedical scientist Bob Langer. Living Proof, which sells its hair products through its website, Sephora, and QVC, raised $9 million June 2009.
