Sanofi-Aventis to Aid Startups in Massachusetts

Xconomy Boston —

Sanofi-Aventis, the French drug powerhouse that has one of its research sites in Cambridge, MA, has agreed to contribute $500,000 over the next two years to a state program that provides financing to life sciences startups in Massachusetts, according to the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, which administers the program. The program is one of several components of the state’s $1 billion life sciences initiative, a 10-year plan launched in 2008 to spur growth in the life sciences industry with grants, tax incentives, and loans to researchers and companies in the commonwealth.
