Monster Cuts 200 Workers

Monster Worldwide (NASDAQ:MWW), an online employment services company, is laying off 200 workers around the globe, including nearly 100 jobs between its Maynard, MA, headquarters and Cambridge, MA, offices, company spokesman Matthew Henson confirmed today. Henson said that the layoffs are part of a restructuring plan that has taken place for the past two years. The company, which operates the world’s largest online employment website,, employs 5,600 people worldwide. These job cuts will be reflected in our Boston Tech Layoff Tracker.

    Monster boasts about being the biggest and the best. I don’t see that! they will undercut their competitors to the point that they show no VALUE in their product what so ever! so by cutting employees, they are just becoming that same cog of industry that is more worried about raking in the bucks and not the economic welfare of the people they let go! This country needs to start thinking outside the box and come up with fresh ideas to help the economy instead of making it worse!
